NUT REPORT WEEK 3
Injuries. Injuries. Injuries.
This last week will shape the season for many teams. This week the NUT Report train is starting to get rolling. Next week all features will return.
I’m going to keep this short since i covered a lot in the pod. But you know the drill. Stats. Stats. My voice. And stats.
Additionally I touch on some clarification for the keeper. Here it is written out.
Keep 1 player.
Date to decide is the day before the next draft.
If you keep a player who was drafted, their keeper price is double whatever they were drafted for. Ex: Drafted for $10. To keep for 2021: $20.
If you keep a player who wasn’t drafted, their keeper price is $10. That’s it. And then to keep them years later, it’s double that price. Ex: Keep next year $10, year after that, $20, year after that $40.
It does not matter if you got this free agent via FAAB or a free claim. Their FAAB price has no influence on their keeper price.
Also, even if you didn’t draft the player. You can still keep them if they are on your roster the day before the next draft. Their price is not change. Ex: Double the price if drafted. $10 if a FA.
Now, the report:

2K20 RULES AND DISCUSSIONS
The start of the 2K20 season is one of the most exciting yet.
IT’S THE START OF OUR 10TH YEAR!
Importantly, it’s also the start of new rules.
Let’s understand our THREE newest:
AUCTION MONEY TRADING
- Teams start with $200 auction dollars
- Teams can trade to a MAX of $250 auction dollars and must have a MIN of $150 to enter a draft.
- Any trade that includes AUCTION MONEY will need to be called out in GroupMe,
- Any trade that puts a team below or above the 250/150 rule will be denied.
- NutBot will automatically post once a day with auction tally’s and there will be an updated tally on the site.
1 MAN KEEPER RULES
- The price of a keeper is double the auction price next year (ex: if OBJ is bought for $40 in 2020, he is $80 in 2021). Or if a keeper was a FA or a player you bought off FAAB the starting price is $10 to keep, then doubles from there.
- You can keep a player as long as you can afford him.
- Deadline for keepers is the night before the draft. Which will be made into an event.
NFL COVID PLANS
- To register a real season 8 games must be played.
- Money will be prorated between winners if season is canceled after that point.
- If season never makes it to 8 games. Season will not count in the champion/sacko books (stats will still be collected)
- Team can still keep Keeper for the next year. Rosters for a cancelled season will remain until next year.
- IR Spots will be added to make up for COVID outbreaks. Teams can’t draft a COVID positive player to put in IR spot.
SLEEPER:
- If you haven’t already, check out SLEEPER on Twitter for more updates.
- This year we can have 3 way trades and timed trade offers and so so much more.
That’s all!
See you all at the draft.
THE WEEKLY REPORT OFFSEASON
New year.
New website.
New format.
The NUT Report and following content will be delivered a little differently this year. The Weekly Report will be the SportsCenter of DVFFL.
Each week during the season, the Weekly Report will include the following:
-A quick summary of the week (open to other members to write)
-A snapshot of the week’s NUT Report
-A 10-20min Podcast discussing the past week and keeping up with league news.
-And of course, links to all the google sheets of stats.
This is the plan. Open to contributors to add to the summary write up. Or to join me on the Weekly Report Podcast.
Occasionally there will still be a Podly Underground. Often around major events of the league i.e. Post Draft, Post trade deadline and playoffs.
NUT REPORT PLAYOFF WEEK 16 (THE FINALE)
15 weeks are in the books and countless others before the season even began. Hours of research has all culminated to this. Every year there are historical precedents being set. For the first time ever, Zach is appearing in his 2nd back-to-back finals appearance. (first 2011 and 2012). Brandon is here for the very first time and has sported the best record ever on his path to the finals. This matchup is easily between the league’s two best teams this year. Pitting research against luck.
As for the NUT Report, this is the last one of the year. It was a good year of getting full website integration. As always, there will be updates that will be implemented in the offseason. Mostly to prepare DVFFL for the coming rule changes and platform change. This will be the last offseason that doesn’t have any keepers, so for that a break will be nicely needed.
Thank you again for reading and enjoy this. Each year it’s getting bigger and hopefully better. That shouldn’t change for years to come.
Happy holidays!
Hello, World!
NUT REPORT PLAYOFF WEEK 15 (HISTORY TO BE MADE)
I’m late with this. So this is going to be brief.
At the end of this week, we’re going to have a first time finalist in either Peyton or Brandon and a finals vet in either Me or Dylan.
Good luck to those fighting off the Sacko machine.
More words for next week.
NUT REPORT PLAYOFF WEEK 14 (STRAIGHT NO CHASER)
This is going to be quick, but the NUT REPORT has a new playoff look.
There is something I want to call out. I know I’ve been pounding the table all year about strength of schedule, but I want you all to sit on this little tidbit:
#14 Kory - Hardest schedule
#13 Jadon - 2nd hardest schedule
#1 Brandon - Easiest schedule
#2 Cal - 2nd easiest schedule
THE PODLY UNDERGROUND Thanksgiving edition
Just a quick recap on all the trades that effected the year and more context on what could happen at the end of the week for the playoffs.
Also, for the top 4 seeds. The ask is out for you to record a video of your selection on Tuesday for the flex seeding. Just a quick two-three minute selfie video of who it is you chose and why. Send them to me either Monday night or Tuesday day. And I will upload them to this site. Then we can all hop on Discord at like 8pm PST / 11pm EST for an hour to react to the videos together. I will upload them every 15 min starting at 8pm PST Tuesday.
NUT REPORT WEEK 13 (WIN OR GO HOME)
It all comes down to this. A quiet season, but yet one of the most competitive we’ve ever had. You all aren’t reading this to find who is already clinched. You know that. You want to know what will it take to keep 5 team’s season’s alive.
Seeds 1-5 are clinched. Here are their possibilities:
#1 Brandon (10-2)
-With win, claims #1 seed and best record ever in DVFFL. (Plays Cal)
#2 Cal (10-2)
-With win, claims #1 seed and best record ever in DVFFL. (Plays Brandon)
#3 Zach (8-4)
-3rd seed is clinched with either win or loss. (Plays Peyton)
#4 Garrett (7-5)
-With win, clinches 4th seed. With loss falls to 5th seed. (Plays Cody)
—
#5 Christian (7-5)
- With win and big scoring output (like 110+ plus) and Garrett win would clinch 4th seed.
- With Garrett loss, and Christian win clinches 4th seed.
- With loss and Garrett win, holds 5th or could fall to 6th if Peyton wins. (Plays Kory)
#6 Peyton (6-6)
- With win clinches 6th seed.
-With loss and Dylan, Mitch, Kaden win. Eliminated.
-With loss and any two of Dylan Mitch or Kaden winning. Clinches playoff spot. (Plays Zach)
#7 Dylan (6-6)
- Plays #8 Mitch
- With win clinches 6th or 7th seed and could eliminate Mitch if Peyton or Kaden win.
- With loss and Peyton and Kaden win. Eliminated.
- With loss and one of of Peyton or Kaden winning. Clinches playoff spot.
#8 Mitch (6-6)
- Plays #7 Dylan
- With win clinches 6th or 7th seed and could eliminate Dylan if Peyton or Kaden win.
- With loss and Peyton and Kaden win. Eliminated.
- With loss and one of Peyton or Kaden winning. Clinches playoff spot.
#9 Kaden (5-6-1)
- With win and Dylan or Mitch win. Clinches playoff spot.
- With win and Dylan or Mitch tie. Clinches playoff spot (due to PPG).
- With loss. Eliminated. (Plays Jesse)
#10 Cody (5-7)
-Needs to win and win big (shit ton of points) + Peyton, Mitch/Dylan, Kaden loss. Clinches playoff spot.
- With loss. Eliminated. (Plays Garrett)
Peyton, Dylan and Mitch are in the driver seat. The Dylan vs. Mitch game could be a true win or go home matchup.
As for the top 4 seeds. There will be an announcement this week on how we are going to announce seeding. Stay tuned.

After this week, who ever wins the Christian/Mitch matchup will have clinched. If Jesse, Brian or Cody lose, they will be eliminated.
And as always here is the week 12 NUT REPORT:
NUT REPORT WEEK 11 (DO OR DIE)
Two teams locked in. Two teams knocked out. 10 teams still in the hunt. With one of the tightest playoff races setting up, this week will be pivotal to keep playoff hopes alive. For some teams that are 4-6. This is a do or die week. With the gap expanding, it’s now or never. Desperation is in the air and the playoff window is closing for teams to put W’s on the board.
NUT REPORT WEEK 10 (RESHUFFLING THE DECK CHAIRS)
Not much to report between the last few weeks. It’s more the song remains the same with team leapfrogging over each other, only to fall back the next week. Only 4 weeks left. Time to buckle up.
NUT REPORT WEEK 9 (THE LAST PUSH)
Next week starts the playoff version of the NUT REPORT. Signaling the beginning of the most intense part of the fantasy season. With how the league is trending, the horde of 4-4 teams are starting to gain ground on the few that have been leading so far this year. Meaning, negative regression is catching up to some of our 6-2 teams in ways that could have been expected and positive regression is fueling the rise of others. For Jesse and Jadon, a loss this week will probably mean the end of their race. But the gap still remains tight.
This week a lot will shake out with important matchups across the board. The Horde will be broken up, however, only temporarily.
Now the report…
NUT REPORT WEEK 8 (6 WAY TIE)
Over halfway through the regular season, and the halfway mark of the fantasy season. Yet we have no clarity on who takes the final 3 spots. Soon the Nut Report will transition into playoff mode (Week 10). This year there will be a few more bells and whistles.
And now, the report…
NUT REPORT WEEK 7 (THE 6 PACK)
Six 2-4 teams make up the majority of the field. But as the weeks go on, that pack is separating out. Teams with hard schedules are hoping to make a run, and teams with easy schedules are hoping to maintain excellence. Going into Week 7, things are getting serious. Every W matters more, and a loss could be the nail in the coffin.
NUT REPORT WEEK 6 (SCHEDULE MAKES PERFECT)
Week 6. We are almost at the halfway point of the season. Sad it’s moving so fast. This week, I want to put a quick blurb on Strength of Schedule. Hated by those with a weak one and doing well, and hope for those with a hard one and doing poorly.
My formula for the Strength of Schedule (SOS) is blind on purpose. It doesn’t consider records, it just looks at how you would do if you had the 13 other team’s schedules. In more ways than what I want to dive into right now, SOS is a check engine light for your team. If you’re seeing your record near the bottom of everyone else’s schedule but your own, that may mean you’re just enjoying short term success. There is still 8 weeks left of the season.
Now to make this timely to this week, it’s hard not to notice that the top 3 teams in record also have the top 3 easiest schedules. Now I can already anticipate the comments coming. “Well thats the only schedule that matters. The one that counts.” I get it. You’re right. But you’re also not spending your time reading the NUT Report or anything else on this website if you were satisfied looking at everything for face value. ESPN is there for you for that.
Reality is, SOS is the most maligned stat in this entire league. It’s become easily dispelled as a falsehood rather than a potential warning sign. And to any team that isn’t seeing consistent results across other team’s schedule and only on their own, should probably look a little deeper than face value. Even if that means admitting that things are as perfect as they seem.
And now, the Week 6 report.
